LML Theater Troupe Presents: Peggy The Brave
LML's Theater Troupe is at it again! Join us April 12th at Holley Hall for Peggy the Brave; a story of a young girl that wants to be a pirate. Through her adventures, Peggy teaches us to believe in ourselves.
Adapted from D.M. Larson’s play, our Kids’ Theater Troupe dedicated their Thursday afternoons to crafting a jolly good performance for you. We hope you enjoy!

Leprechaun Trap Making!
Join us for a fun-filled morning at Lawrence Memorial Library the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day to unleash your creativity and craft your very own Leprechaun trap! We’ll provide all the necessary supplies for this magical activity.

Saturday Story Time with Alison
We are thrilled to announce that our beloved Saturday Story Time is continuing into the new year! Every month, Children’s Librarian, Alison Dabica, will enchant young minds with captivating stories. No registration is required, so bring your little ones along for a morning of literary fun and creativity.

Saturday Morning Family LEGOS
We warmly welcome you and your kiddos to join us at the library to explore the boundless possibilities of LEGO creations and let your imaginations soar. Whether it's building towering skyscrapers, crafting intricate vehicles, or reimagining entire worlds, our LEGO series promises fun-filled, creative adventures for the whole family to enjoy! Adults must be present. No registration required.

Theater Troupe
The Lawrence Memorial Theater Troupe will run a nine week after-school program at our library starting on October 4th . Our primary goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for our youngest patrons.
Our hope is to provide an experience for children that will inspire, promoting joy within a community, all while promoting positive self-esteem and risk-taking. Although working as a group, we hope that the children finds and develops their own talents while supporting each other.
Through this session of Theater Troupe, we’ll cover a variety of activities such as drama games, script writing, basic theatrical skills, developing costumes, set design and set construction, basic lighting along with rehearsals and a performance.
We will meet the following Wednesdays:

August Artistic Exploratory: Jewelry Making
Registration for this event is NOW CLOSED
Join the amazing local artist, Audrey Beckwith, of Island Girl Jewelry for an afternoon of–you guessed it–jewelry making! This workshop is perfect for kiddos who love to get creative and express themselves through handmade accessories. Under Audrey’s guidance, children will have the opportunity to design and craft their very own piece of jewelry to take home that day!

August Artistic Exploratory: Sushi Making

Do you love eating and creating interesting food from around the world!? Join us for sushi making with Mao on August 14th from 1-3PM at the library! This is a perfect opportunity for young chefs to learn about the art of sushi making while getting creative in the kitchen. Mao, a professional sushi chef, will be leading the class and teaching kids how to prepare sushi rice, roll sushi, and explore different flavor combinations. All materials will be provided and kids will get to take home their own sushi rolls!

August Artistic Exploratory: Contemporary Art
Join our Children's Librarian, Alison, on August 10th from 1-3pm for an afternoon filled with creativity and contemporary art! With Alison's guidance, our young artists will learn about contemporary art styles and have the chance to create their own unique masterpieces. We’ll be providing all the necessary art supplies for kids to explore different art techniques and materials.

Chapter Chat
Are you a young reader who loves books and chatting with other bookworms? Then join us at Lawrence Memorial Library for our weekly summer book club, Chapter Chats!
Starting June 21st through August 16th, we’ll meet every Wednesday from 3-4:15pm. During our time together, we'll read from our chosen book and take a dive deep into plotlines, characters, themes, and share our thoughts and opinions with each other.
Chapter Chats is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow readers and discover new books to add to your reading list. So, mark your calendars and join us this summer at Lawrence Memorial Library!

Lego Club

Join us in the Library Community Room from 3:15-5pm on Wednesdays to design, build, and explore the library's Lego collection. NOTE: for 1/2 days at Bristol Elementary, Lego Club will be from 12-3 PM.

Violinist and cellist, Nathan and Henry Wu introduce audiences of all ages to classical music. Join us for a very special, one hour classical summer concert. No registration required.
Mindful Movements Yoga for Kids
Join BES teacher, Kate Gagner for an afternoon of yoga under the library tent — no experience necessary! This yoga series is open to students entering 3rd-6th grade in the fall. Students are encouraged to attend all the sessions if possible, but it is not required. Mats will be provided, and we ask that students arrive in comfy clothes with a water bottle, snack, and a journal or sketchbook. Registration required.
About Kate:
Kate Gagner has been teaching for 12 years, mostly in MAUSD and almost always in grades five and six. She has practiced yoga on her own for a few years and facilitates informal sessions with past students. Kate has been taking part in a 200-hour registered yoga teacher training through Breathe for Change, an organization that teaches social-emotional and wellness programs for educators. Facilitating two hours of yoga in the community is a course requirement.
